Michael S. Hoge, DMD, MSMichael S. Hoge, DMD, MS is a board-certified specialist in periodontics and dental implant surgery. Dr. Hoge was born and raised in the Milwaukee area and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While in dental school at Boston University, he participated in research investigating correlations between oral health and general health, which contributed to his interest in the field of periodontology. Also during this time, he received a health professions scholarship with the United States Air Force and was commissioned upon graduation in 2007. While on active duty with the Air Force, he completed a residency in general dentistry at the United States Air Force Academy, spent three years practicing general dentistry, and completed a residency in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at Wilford Hall Medical Center and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Hoge is the founder and director of the Lakeshore Study Club in Sheboygan, WI, dedicated to providing dentists in the community with continuing education and achieving excellence in comprehensive dentistry. He is an adjunct assistant professor of Surgical Sciences at Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he instructs post-graduate residents in clinical and didactic aspects of periodontics. He also serves as a Lieutenant Colonel with Wisconsin Air National Guard as part of the 128th Air Refueling Wing, General Mitchell Field. Dr. Hoge is passionate about his profession and feels strongly about the importance of lifelong learning. He enjoys finding innovative ways to make treatments more successful and more comfortable for patients and fostering a spirit of collaboration amongst colleagues. In his spare time, Dr. Hoge enjoys outdoor sports, reading, and spending time with his family. |
